Whether you’re a first time parent choosing a baby crib for the first time, or you already have children and just need a new crib, all parents want to know that the crib they choose is safe for their precious baby!
Many of us remember the traditional crib that babies slept in for generations – the drop side crib. But in June 2011, a ban went into effect that outlawed the manufacture, sale and re-sale of cribs that have a side rail that moves up and down. After millions of crib recalls because of infant injuries and deaths, the Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously to ban the drop side rails and require that the side rails be fixed. When shopping for your baby’s crib, many parents will find cribs for re-sale that better fit their budget. Just remember that drop-side cribs are not an option!
